“It’s the possibility of a dream coming true that makes life interesting,he thought, as he looked again at the position of the sun and hurried his pace.” Paulo Coehlo, The Alchemist.

Cancer is a thief. It steals our dreams and leaves us in an unchartered world of blood tests, medical appointments, and loss. The loss of our independence, or hair or even parts of our body. When treatment ends or stabilizes, many of us also grapple with the loss of our dreams – what we thought our lives “should” or “would” look like.

So, what happens when the doctor sends us home and tells us to get back to living? How do we find a way to start believing in the future again?

What if you could have an adventure that would eclipse cancer as the most recent story in your life? An adventure where you could give back and gain fresh perspective on what you’ve been through and what lies ahead.

The Fresh Chapter Alliance Foundation began after the struggles I faced with picking up the pieces of my life after breast cancer. Thankfully a volunteer trip to Africa helped me find new inspiration and purpose in my life and I wanted to help other people impacted by cancer experience meaningful adventures too. We piloted our first two-week program in India in February of 2013 and returned with a second group earlier this year. Now we’re getting ready to rev up the big dreaming engine again. From February 28 to March 14, 2015, we will return to India for two weeks of volunteering, rediscovery, and a once-in-a-lifetime trip to see the sun rise over the Taj Mahal.

If you feel like cancer has taken over too much of your story and you want to join the ranks of our FCAF Community who chose to believe in a new dream, check out all of the details here: FCAF International In India. Our programs are open to patients and survivors of ALL types of cancer.
