Who we are

CancerFightClub is a Hope & Cope grassroots initiative made up of committed young adult cancer community members (fighters, survivors, lifers, supporters and professionals) from across Montreal and Quebec (Canada). We understand that a cancer diagnosis can be terrifying and that young adults face issues that are unique to their age such as concerns around dating, fertility, children, finances and education. We offer innovative programming in a safe, welcoming environment where you can connect, recharge and focus on your well-being. Our programs include peer support, workshops and seminars, retreats, exercise and physical activities, social get-togethers, stress management. You also will have access to Hope & Cope’s professional expertise and wide variety of resources.

CancerFightClub Mission

Our mission is to provide young adult patients, young families, survivors, “lifers” and caregivers access to resources, information and support services that are unique to their age as well as to offer a sense of connection, reduce isolation and create a supportive community.

Our story

In the mid-1980s, Hope & Cope recognized that the needs of young adults with cancer differed greatly from those of the general population. This is why we created Montreal’s first support group for young adults. Over the years, our program evolved to meet the ever changing needs of young adults. Our goal has always been to offer innovative programming and a safe place where young adults between the ages of 18-39 and their supporters can recharge, connect and empower themselves.

Our En famille program provides additional support for young families in which a parent has cancer.
